Welcome to 3Danatomyonline!
The history of anatomy has been characterized, over time, by a continually developing understanding of the functions of organs and structures in the body. Methods have advanced dramatically, from examination of animals through dissection of cadavers (dead human bodies) to technologically complex techniques developed in the 20th century. Yet, while techniques and descriptions may change, the human body remains fundamentally the same, and on this site you can learn about and explore its inner and outer features not from graphics and diagrams but from real photographs in wonderful three dimensional detail.
This site is still under construction (please bear with us!), but we currently have a large number of matching 2D and 3D anaglyph type images which can be viewed using red-green glasses to see amazing anatomy. Please take a minute to register on the site. You can still use the full site without it but registering will let you zoom dramatically into the images in 3D and, if you like, add your questions or comments below each picture. To begin to view our images CLICK ON THE RELEVANT BODY PART TO THE RIGHT.
Alternatively, you can either click the Galleries tab and scroll through thumbnail pictures, click the site index tab for an alphabetical list of keywords or run a search. Good luck! And do please send us your comments or suggestions.
